My site was just launched about a week ago. Let's assume it gets listed in Google in the next update.

I'm accumulating links at the moment. I'm only targeting related links.

If I were to get about 8-10 inbound links with PR 1-2; and 8-10 inbound links with PR 3-4, what do you think my PR will be like in the following Google update (i.e. 2 updates from now)?

is there a way we can check if google are goin to give us a pr before we give it to us?

Pagerank is not about your site's content, it's a measurement of how many links are pointing to your site.
Anyways, if you got 10 good quality PR4 links to your site, you could get PR5. But pagerank itself doesn't bring good search engine results!

I've read many conflicting comments in many of the forums... I guess no one actually knows.....

No one knows for SURE, but some people say that page rank matters and have no proof.

If you spend a few hours looking through the SERP's you will see that PR really still isn't that big a thing. It's too easily bought.

ye i used to know that. there wa sthis url which shows you roughly where your site would be in googles search engine by the next update

Another question... if you submit to the mainstream directories - e.g. DMOZ and Yahoo, most of their pages are at least PR 5. If you're accepted in all the major directories, you should get a good PR even if you don't put in extra effort to get reciprocal links and stuff like that? :?:

i tnver thought of that....im guessing google doesnt count those...but im probably wrong

I was browsing through some of DMOZ's entries for BMWs - some of the sites have really little content (haven't checked their backlinks though) - however, most of them have good PR - that's what led me to think that getting into the main directories could be enough to have PR 4 or 5? Just guessing though... :roll:

iv'e seen most site not that good got to say but if you go to the links page they have a massive list of links! and they have a high pr!
i don't want to have lots of links on my site so i hope there are other ways of getting higher pr!!!

Yeah, you could pay for links...

Python, It shows what your PR is on the different datacenters... Normally a pretty good way of knowing what PR will be next update.
