Best Script For Directory?

I know some places I can find directory scripts, but was just curious if any of you had some opinions of what script was best to use? James Papworth (username: Papworth) and I were talking about creating a directory and wanted to do it right.

Also, do you have any directory advice out there from those of you who have run them before?
