The United States will extend it's hold on ICANN (Body that governs Domains)

The United States had originally planned to only hold on to control over ICANN, the agency that governs domain name policy, only until the end of September. They changed their minds and will decide this month wether to extend their control from between 1-3 years. ICANN determines domain policy for the whole world's domains except CCTLD's, (Country Code Domains) like .uk, and .au

Some nations have expressed concern that the US would continue to have control over a technology that the whole world depends on.
