Templates.com Sold for $450,000!

How is the buyer ever going to earn this much back on their investment? Templates.com was sold for $450,000.

Tessoro Media Limited, the seller, had only paid $43,000 for it just 3 years ago. What an amazing return on an investment and what a crazy buyer!

$450,000 is just insane for any domain name, especially one that's not connected to some massively popular site (I'd suspect that myspace.com and such would sell for much more than that if they were to go on sale).
In order to make that back, the new owner will have to put massive amounts of work into it's content as nobody will buy templates which aren't worth the money.
Of course, there's adverts, but they don't generate a lot of money on their own (unless you have a custom advertising service running so that you can charge what you like).
PHP, CSS, XHTML, Delphi, Ruby on Rails & more.
    Current project: CMS Object.
Most recent change: Theme support is up and running... So long as I use my theme resource loaders instead of that in the Rails plug-in.
    Release date: NEVER!!!
