well i am having a shout box on the gaming community i'm building and i have seen a few web sites that use them but there mainly communitys

yeah its mainly sites with forums or return visitors which use shoutboxes...and yes...its done using mysql

K, And what you have against flat files? They're faster than databases most of the time ya know. Just hader to work information out.

i built a site using them before and hated them there not hard to use but mysql is easyer and i'm sure mysql is faster
